Edited some things

What I had said about ibn idris’ view of dhikr gatherings was very misleading so i just edited that to make it more accurate. i’m talking about the Muhammadan Sufism and Mutaba’a post.

Assalamualaikum brother, i was quite confused when you wrote in your earlier postings regarding Syaikh Ahmad ibn Idris’s view on dhikr gathering. As written in Enigmatic Saint, Syaikh Ahmad ibn Idris did perform dhikr gatherings and the movements during dhikr, he did not regard the physical expression of worship outside ritual prayer to be a bid’a. I’m glad you’ve edited the post and i’m now clear about it. Syukran

yes you’re definitly right, our shaykh definitly approved of and defending these dhikr gatherings and the movments. However the shaykh himself saw himself as a teacher, just like Rasul Allah (saws), and he had so much knowledge to give that it would be a crime to sit there and recite formulas which people can do without him, when instead they can be learning from him. I mean, he once spent three daily sessions for twelve days in a row explaining one ayah of the Qur’an, and 70 notebooks were filled of notes from his lectures by other scholars. He taught everything from Hadith and its sciences to Fiqh to Qur’an, to tasawwuf… when there is someone with so much knowledge, it is superior to sit with him for the sake of learning than to sit with him for the sake of repeating the names of Allah, for example.
